The Women's Challenge Trophy was created to honor those women who have qualified with the same dog three or more times at an MN event.

This is the first time since the inception of the Woman's Challenge Trophy by the MN Board, that a woman has the right to claim the trophy. What is unique and a testament to what this trophy stands for is that two outstanding women have achieved their 5 qualifications with the same dog at the National. Both Sallie Sullivan and Cindy Read qualified their dogs in Shawnee under outstanding tests and judging. Jeff Schoonover, MN President 2001, presented this huge trophy to them both at the closing ceremonies. What they decided together is that Cindy will keep the trophy for the first 6 months and Sallie will have it for the second 6 months. Then in September 2002, at Bend, Oregon they will donate it back to the MN for the next woman. We all applaud your effort, hard work, commitment to our sport and the MN, and above all---your generosity.

Note that there will 2 more names added to the trophy as well. Cindy Read will go on the trophy again but this time with "Cin-D's Storm Trooper, MH" and Fay Norwood (for her first time) will be on there with "Norwood's Ocoee JJ, MH". Both dogs moved into the Hall of Fame after 2001 and therefore, also on the Woman's Challenge Trophy.
